What to do this week · 3 min · October 23, 2026
Do I need an agency, or can I do this myself?
For a site with under a few thousand pages, most of the work is titles, broken pages and one link a week. You can do it. What an agency is for, and what it is not.

Most of what moves a small site is small work. A title that says what people typed, a page that stopped opening, a link from your strongest page. None of it needs an agency. It needs knowing which page, and doing it this week.
What you can do yourself
Read Search Console once a week. Fix the page many people see and few click. Fix the page that stopped opening. Move one page from page two. Write down what you changed and look again in two weeks.
What an agency is for
A site with tens of thousands of pages, a move to a new address, or a technical problem your site builder cannot fix. Those are real jobs. A monthly report with a score on it is not.
What to ask any agency
Which pages will you change, and what will you change on them? If the answer is a plan and a dashboard rather than pages and words, keep your money.
Footprnt is the once-a-week read, done for you: the page, the words to paste, and two weeks later, what it did.
