How long until a change shows up in Google?
You changed a title on Tuesday. When will the number move, and how will you know it was the title and not the weather?
Written by Footprnt, from Google's own definitions
Google reads a busy page every few days and a quiet one every few weeks. A changed title is usually read within a week and shows in the results soon after. Where you sit for a search can take two to four weeks to settle.
How to tell the change did it
Write down the day you changed the page. Two weeks later, compare that page's visits and its spot in the two weeks after with the two weeks before. Compare the rest of the site over the same weeks. If the page moved and the rest did not, the change did it.
When to give it longer
A brand new page, or a page Google rarely reads, can take a month. If the page is not in Google at all yet, nothing you change on it will show until it is. Check that first.
What not to do
Do not change the page again in week one because nothing moved. Google has probably not read it yet. One change, two weeks, then look.
Footprnt marks the day of each fix on the page's line. Two weeks later it says what the page did against the rest of the site, never more than the numbers show.
