What to do this week · 4 min · October 23, 2026
My page is on page two. How do I get it onto page one?
Page two is where Google puts pages it half trusts. Three changes move most of them, and none of them is writing more words.
Written by Footprnt, from Google's own definitions
A page at spot eleven to twenty already ranks. Google has read it and decided it is a fair answer, just not the best one. That is a short distance, and it is the best place on your site to spend an afternoon.
Say what they typed
Read the search people use to find the page. Now read the page's title. If the title says what your company calls the thing and not what the person typed, lead with their words. Keep it under sixty characters so Google shows all of it.
Answer the question near the top
Most page-two pages answer the question, but in the fourth paragraph. Put a short, plain answer under the first heading. Google and people both read the top first.
Point to it from a page Google already trusts
Find the page of yours that gets the most visits from Google. Link from it to the page on page two, using the search's words in the link. One good link from your own strong page moves more than ten weak ones.
Then wait two weeks
Do all three, write down the day, and look again in two weeks. A page that climbs from fifteenth to eighth usually doubles its visits, because almost nobody scrolls past page one.
Footprnt lists every search where you sit between spots four and twenty, with the page, and writes the title to paste.
